The US Chinese Burn single was released several months before the album and featured the Flood* mix as the main track (i.e. the "album version"). Curve preferred the Steve Osborne mix and subsequently used that on "Come Clean" (and the UK Chinese Burn single .)

* The Flood mix has never been officially released in the UK.
