Frequently Asked Questions

14.  What have Toni and Dean done outside Curve?

Toni Halliday

Toni's first band The Uncles released a single What's The Use Of Pretending in 1984. Five years later she released a solo album Hearts And Handshakes which had four singles Weekday, Love Attraction, Time Turns Around and Woman In Mind released before it. In 1995 (during Curves' "hiatus") she formed Scylla - only one recording of theirs, "Helen's Face", was ever officially released (on the Showgirls soundtrack), though another recording "Get A Helmet" was used in the Gregg Araki movie Nowhere.

Dean toured with Sinead O'Connor in early 1989 and also played in Japan with The Blockheads when they toured in June 1990 (under the pseudonym The Appleblossom Orchestra).

Toni and Dean have also collaborated with other artists though the results have yet to be released... In 2001 they co-produced "If My Friends Could See Me Now" by Swarm (ex-Republica Saffron's new band). Toni has been working on a classical project with Andy Wright and string arranger / composer David Whitaker, plus she also worked with Danny Lohner (of Nine Inch Nails) back in 2000 as part of the Tapeworm project - this work is unlikely to be released however...
